Where My Journey Became My Purpose
I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, the proud son of Puerto Rican parents who taught me the value of resilience, humility, and family. In our home, hard work was not optional. It was survival.
Like many immigrant families, we faced challenges that shaped us early in life. My mother made the courageous decision to move our family to Florida in search of a safer environment and greater opportunities for her children. Looking back, that single decision changed the course of our lives forever.
Growing up, financial education was never part of the conversation. No one taught us how credit worked, how to build wealth, how to invest, or how to prepare for the future. I learned many lessons the hard way through setbacks, mistakes, financial struggles, and moments where I felt lost and overwhelmed.
There were times I wished someone had simply sat down with me and explained the system.
But over time, I realized something powerful:
Sometimes life becomes the teacher.
25 Years Behind the Barber Chair
For more than 25 years, I stood behind the barber chair serving my community. What many people saw as just haircuts became something much deeper to me.
Every client who sat in my chair brought a story.
Some were struggling financially.
Some were trying to buy their first home.
Some were rebuilding after divorce, hardship, medical bills, or unexpected setbacks.
Others simply wanted a second chance.
Day after day, conversation after conversation, I began to understand how deeply credit and finances affect every part of a person’s life. Their confidence, their opportunities, their stress levels, and even their relationships.
The barber chair became my classroom.
It taught me how to listen.

And most importantly, it taught me that millions of people are never given the financial education they truly deserve.
